Bedroom interior design project for an apartment in the Jelgava district. - Spring
The apartment is located in a Stalin-era building; it was recently renovated after a fire 10 years ago. The walls are covered with plasterboard. The windows are metal-plastic. The goal was to create a warm and cozy interior—a modern, soft, and inviting space—using natural materials. It also included storage space, a large double bed, lighting, mold removal, a radiator concealment, and a home theater. The room is 9 square meters.
For this project, three drafts of visualizations, measurements, and furniture layout plans were created. Then, in accordance with the client's plans, preferences, and budget, the materials, color palette, textiles, furniture, and decor were selected. Initially, the idea for this project was to make a podium the width of the entire room with the bed, but we later abandoned this idea due to inconvenient storage. And went the other wayŃ For this room, we used a bas-relief wall decoration technique using textured paste, plaster, and cold porcelain. The window is insulated and painted black on the inside, the slopes are finished with wood veneer, and a pull-out table is built into the window. Louvred doors were used for the built-in alcove. The wall is decorated with wooden hanging shelves and flowers in planters. Decorative elements are handmade – paintings, interior decorations, bedside tables, toys, hanging pots, and a tree lamp. Old barn boards, which I restored and varnished, were used as a bedside console. The bed is made of bouclé fabric, 1800 x 2100 cm, with a drawer for linens, and an orthopedic mattress.
The sockets are painted in an accent color. There is overhead and bedside lighting.
The windowsill is used as a vanity or workspace.
The radiator was cleaned and painted to match the walls. The wallpaper is non-woven.
The project took two months from measurements to completion.
